Full course description

Adult learners are multifaceted and bring a unique set of experiences and skills to the classroom. Adult programs face the challenge of creating an environment that promotes rich learning for all individuals. Universal Design for Learning is a framework developed by CAST to enhance teaching and learning for all based on the science of how the brain learns best. Adopting the UDL framework means understanding that barriers exist in the environment, not within the learner. This course will define the core principles of UDL and give examples of how these principles can be applied in current adult education classrooms to remove barriers to learning and better support diverse learning needs. Participants will walk away with the information necessary to begin implementing UDL practices in their programs. Join us as we focus on practical ways to unlock potential for all learners!
